Abdul Wahid Bolaesh, chairman of Renaissance of Tangier sports club, said that the 7th edition of the basketball competition of schools, hosted by Tangier in the last week, has achieved a great success. He added, in an interview with Morocco Today, that the competition comes as a part of a joint program called "Greater Tangier breathes basketball," with the participation of more than 600 children.

He further added that the competition, organized by Tangier, Tetouan and Hoceima in partnership with the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the Association of Basketball in Tangier, has witnessed a great success and participation from different schools.

Boleash said that the main objective of that competition was attracting youth and children who have never played basketball, explaining about 400 children have played on three stadiums.

He stressed that the atmosphere of competition and integration in practice would protect the children from social problems.

Bolaesh concluded that he hoped to organize an international competition for children, so that they can meet other children from foreign countries.
