Iraq’s Joint Special Operation Command revealed that they targeted ISIS strongholds in Mousl’s right bank, saying that they completed the plans of “We Are Coming Nineveh” operations’ third phase.

Spokesperson of Joint Special Operation Command Yahia Rasool said that the Iraqi forces wait the orders to start their operation to storm the right bank of the Iraqi city during the coming days. He praised the efforts exerted by the Iraqi air forces in cooperation with the international coalition to pave the way for the ground troops to storm the area.

He added that the airstrikes targeted a number of ISIS leaders in the city’s right bank to weaken its organization of leadership, underlining the role performed by the Popular Mobilization Forces to intercept the roads of supplies to the extremist group.

A source in “We Are Coming Nineveh” operation said that the American and French jets started their operations against the strongholds of the extremist group to pave the way for the coming operation to liberate the right bank of the city. It added that Iraq’s Federal police forces deployed in Mousl’s southern areas preparing to storm the city’s right bank.

In the same context, sources in Mousl revealed that the extremist group organized training camps for children to involve them during the coming battle, saying that they cut off the hands of two children as they refused to meet the orders.

The source added that the two children have been punished as they refused to shoot two men of the city’s residents, as the two men were sentenced to death by the extremist group.

On the other hand, the American army revealed the killing of 11 civilians during the recent four air raids targeting the strongholds of ISIS in both Iraq and Syria between October 25 and December 9. It added, “Despite the increasing efforts not to kill civilians, there are mistakes that we cannot avoid.”

It added, in a statement, that the Iraqi forces managed to control over 60 percent of Mousl, stressing that the international coalition managed to kill the most prominent leaders of the extremist group. It added that the current leaders existed in the city’s right bank are less experience if compared to the other leaders who have been killed during the previous operations.
