The Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) in Britain has filed a complaint to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the back of Qatar's prevention of its citizens from performing this year’s Hajj rituals.
The AOHR balked at Qatar's serious violation of its citizens' right in performing religious rituals, topped by pilgrimage, according to the Arabic-speaking Sky News channel.
The organization added that the measure had raised the Qatari people's hackles.
The organization called for raising the issue during the 36th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council due to be held in Geneva on September 11 to 29.
Saudi Airlines has announced that Qatar refused to grant it a permission to land in Qatar to transport Qatari pilgrims to the kingdom amid a diplomatic rift between Qatar and four Arab states, including Saudi Arabia.
Saudi King Salman ben Abdul Aziz had ordered transporting Qatari pilgrims at his own expense to perform Hajj.
