Preparations are underway to establish a multi-storey garage at Alexandria harbor at a total cost of EGP 285 millions, Transport Minister Hisham Arafat asserted.
In statements on Thursday, Arafat said the project is expected to be finalized within 18 months after finalizing all measures of the tender for the company to be tasked with setting up the garage.
The project aims to meet growing demands on car imports at the customs area of Alexandria port, he noted.
Total area of the garage is 15,000 square meters, the minister said, adding that three floors of the parking lot will be allocated for imported cars, while the fourth storey will be used as a storage facility.
