Nile Sunset Annex, a small gallery located in the heart of Cairo's Garden City district is set to host Alexandrian artist Walid Elsawi's solo exhibition. Elsawi has exhibited his work in numerous places, including MASS in Alexandria, one of the only spaces that explores and showcases contemporary arts in the seaside city. The exhibition will involve the illuminated sculptures with texts, self-portraits and a series of stop motion animations. There will also be a publication produced to accompany the exhibition in collaboration with the arts space. The art space Nile Sunset Annex is a self-funded experimental artist-run venue. It simply comprises a small room within a flat in Garden City's district. The space runs month-long exhibitions, along with a sporadic programme of publications and discussions centred around the works presented and other topics. Source: Ahram Online
