Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has discussed ways to bolster ties with General Electric (GE), in the energy sector.

This came up during a meeting between Al Tayer and a visiting delegation of the US-based company at DEWA’s main office. The delegation included Scott Strazik, Vice President at GE and Commercial Leader of General Electric-Gas Power Systems, Joe Mastrangelo, Vice President at GE, and Ghassan Barghout, President and CEO of General Electric, Gas Power Systems in Middle East and North Africa.

The meeting was part of DEWA’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with international companies, and exchange best practices and experiences in the energy sector, to broaden horizons and achieve mutual benefits. Al Tayer welcomed the delegation, highlighting DEWA’s most important strategic projects in renewable and clean energy to support the UAE Vision 2021, the Dubai Plan 2021, and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.

DEWA has launched a number of clean and renewable energy projects, to enhance energy and water infrastructure in the Emirate, according to the highest international standards. The visiting delegation highlighted their latest techniques, solutions and research in electricity, and expressed interest in contributing to DEWA’s ongoing projects, to achieve sustainable development in Dubai, and the UAE
