An earthquake measuring 6.1on the Richter scale struck off Indonesia’s main island of Java today, the US Geological Survey (USGS) announced, without reporting any damage or casualties.
USGS said the quake struck at 0514 GMT, 39 kilometres south-southeast of Adipala at a depth of 83 kilometres,
Local officials said there was no risk of a tsunami.
