The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, met, on Saturday, with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Dar Al-Salam, at Istana palace in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries and cooperation in various fields.
A joint statement was issued at the end of Salman's visit to the Sultanate of Brunei, announcing that this important and historic visit reflects the continuous fraternal, friendly and bilateral relations binding the two brotherly countries.
The two leaders held constructive talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and broadening cooperation in all fields, especially in the fields of trade and investment cooperation, including joint investment opportunities between the two countries, the statement said.
"Both two leaders agreed to activate the general agreement signed between the two countries in the fields of economy, investment, education, culture, youth and sports in addition to importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the political, military and security fields and Islamic Affairs," the joint statement read.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah praised the king's efforts to serve the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims, expressing his sincere appreciation to the King's historic visit.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues including the latest developments in the Middle East, and stressed the importance of reaching a lasting and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with the contents of the Arab peace initiative.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah held, at Istana Nurul Iman Palace, a luncheon party in honor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
