Baghdad - Najla Al Taee

Iraq’s Interior Minister Qassem Al Aaragy revealed that they work currently to draft new plans to achieve security and stability in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad during the current period. Meanwhile, local official of Diyala’s province revealed that over 50 militants loyal to ISIS infiltrated from Howeija to Al-Mutaibeeja. He warned of the repercussions of such steps, saying that it could perform a major role to revive the extremist group in other places in the country.

The Iraqi minister stressed that the governmental troops expert increasing efforts to provide security and stability across the country in the light of the recent developments witnessed in the different provinces. He praised the consecutive victories achieved by the Iraqi troops to liberate Mousl from the grip of extremist ISIS group. He underlined the major challenges facing the Iraqi capital of Baghdad during the current period.

He added, in press statements, “We exert increasing efforts to help the Iraqi citizens living in Baghdad during the current critical period and to ease the traffic problems.” He refused to give any details about the new security plans due to their sensitivity to ensure their success. He expressed their keenness to respect the human rights principles in dealing with the Iraqi citizens despite the pressure the security forces face from the violators.

Regarding the current operations to liberate Mousl, He praised the efforts exerted by the Iraqi troops to liberate the rest of the Iraqi city as soon as possible, saying that the existence of civilians in the fighting areas poses serious challenge against the advance of the Iraqi troops during the recent period. He added that the Iraqi troops give priority to protecting the lives of Iraqi citizens at the expense of defeating ISIS upon the orders issued by Prime Minister Haider Abadi.

In the same context, local official of Diyala’s province Odai Al Khadran revealed that over 50 members of ISIS infiltrated to Al-Mutaibeeja district, warning that ISIS attempts to activate its role in the area. He said that the existence of extremist militias in the area poses serious threat against three provinces, including Diyala, Kirkuk and Salahuddin.

On the other hand, local source in Salahuddin Province revealed that ten families of the Islamic State’s members left their houses in eastern al-Sharqat, and fled toward an unknown destination, Alsumaria News reported on Monday.

The source said that ten families of the Islamic State’s militants left their houses in the eastern side of al-Sharqat District, north of Salahuddin, and fled toward an unknown destination, while information indicated that they fled toward Hawija or one of its outskirts.

We do not know the real reasons that made the families leave the district, the source added on condition of anonymity.

the Iraqi forces have regained control of more than half of the right side of Mosul since the start of military operations on 19 February last, while the security committee in the local government for the province of Nineveh, announced the recovery of 75% of this part.

Iraqi forces are fully aware of the importance of ancient Mosul and the western neighborhoods and how difficult it is to recover them, so they move forward from four axes, and the closer they are, the slower their progress and the more cautious.

On the other hand, a security official said that no aid convey had reached Al-Aalil camp south-west of Mosul since Friday, adding that it is the main arrival point to refugees, and it is not clear whether the floods destroyed the bridges or not, but some soldiers said their can’t be used anymore. An official in Hamam Al-Aalil camp said that the flood affect the roads badly and there aren’t many supplies left.

The supplies reach the camp in the same way they reach the others, through a road in Arbil, 80 kilometers far from Iraq's Kurdistan region. A refugee named, Essam al-Jubouri demanded more efforts to rebuild the bridges or bring bigger boats. He had to pay for the trip to get supplies for his family. A local source in Salah El Din Governorate said that unknown armed men killed one of the most prominent leaders in the left coast of the province of Shirqat named, Abu Adnan near his house and injured one of his escorts.

The source also said that, a security force arrested Ahmed Ibrahim Hamad Najm Jubouri, who used to work in The Republican Hospital in Mosul ,and he is a leader in Daesh, and the father of the extremist Yassin Ahmed, Commander of operations in Samarra, General Imad al-Zuhairi announced that Samarra fighters carried out an operation in Aksa area and destroyed a stack of weapons belongs to Daesh, adding that in another operation the forces managed to arrest two terrorists tried to control Samarra.
