Saudi Cabinet
Riyadh - Arab Today

Saudi Cabinet condemned the suicide bombings that targeted refugees in two Syrian villages and similar bombings in Mogadishu, congratulating Turkey’s President Recep Tayeb Erdogan on the results of referendum held on Sunday to amend the Turkish constitution. The Saudi statement came immediately after the cabinet’s meeting headed by King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz on Monday.

In the beginning of the meeting, the Saudi King was keen to brief the cabinet on the results of the meetings he conducted with Philippines’ president and President of the Saudi British Group in the British Parliament Charlotte Leslie in addition to the President of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The Saudi ministers expressed their appreciation to the Saudi king for his sponsorship of the closing ceremony of the King Abdul Aziz Festival for Camels attended by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and other representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council. They also appreciated the opening of a new village for camels, saying that such a step comes to reflect the keenness of Saudi leadership to keep the Saudi heritage and to protect it.

In the same context, the Cabinet stressed the strength of the Saudi economy as the Ministry of Finance has received strong demand from investors for the first international issuance under the sukuk program. It stressed the need for taking such measures to save the Saudi economy in the framework of the current efforts aiming to diversify the Saudi economic sources.

On the other hand, King Salman on Monday made a phone call to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, congratulating him and the people of Turkey on the successful conduct of a referendum on amendments to the Turkish constitution.

The king expressed hope that the new amendment would bring Turkey more stability and boost its development. He reiterated the Kingdom’s keenness for more cooperation with Turkey. Earlier, in Riyadh, the Cabinet also congratulated Erdogan.
