Prime Minister of Bahrain, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, on Tuesday arrived in Doha for a two-day official visit to the State of Qatar.
The Bahraini premier was welcomed upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was accorded official reception ceremony.
The delegation accompanying HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa comprises Bahrain's Deputy Prime Minister HH Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Sheikh Ibrahim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, HE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, HH Prime Minister's Advisor Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Upon his arrival, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa expressed pleasure for the visit to the State of Qatar at the invitation of our brother, pointing that it came at the invitation HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. He pointed that he would meet with HH the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, hailing the Gulf, Arab and Islamic bonds between the two sisterly countries.
He added that the visit is an opportunity to view aspects of the urban and developmental progress which started in reign of HH the Grandfather Emir late Sheikh Khalifa in Hamad Al-Thani, continued by HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and carried on by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to make the State of Qatar has become a symbol of progress and development in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the region.
The Prime Minister considered the direct communication between the GCC leaders and senior officials, to be a necessity especially with the political, economic and security challenges in the region. This direct communication enhances the common position and unites visions in effectively confronting these challenges, he said stressing the importance of intensifying meetings and coordination between GCC States to maintain the security, stability and development of the region.
He pointed to the GCC States solid foundation of joint economic, security and development work, which helps in unifying efforts to tackle the latest regional and international developments and in efficiently utilizing the resources for the prosperity and stability of the GCC countries and their peoples.
