H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, on Thursday raised the national flag at Al Khor Park in Umm Al Qaiwain on the occasion of Flag Day, which coincides with the 12th anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession to the Presidency of the UAE. He was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain.
Also in attendance were a number of Sheikhs, dignitaries, local officials and a large number of UAE citizens and residents.
School students from the emirate participated in the flag-raising ceremony, as they sung the national anthem.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Saud said that celebrating this day shows national pride and the sincere feelings which fill the hearts of the people of the UAE for the country's leadership. It also highlights the ties of unity, peace, love and honour between the people and the leadership.
