The Egyptian Satellite Company (NILESAT) has stopped broadcasting of Al-Manar TV channel via its satellite services, Lebanese media reported Tuesday.
The Egyptian-owned network has informed Lebanese telecommunications ministry about its decision. The Egyptian network claimed that the channel has breached the contract signed between them after broadcasting shows that incite sectarian tension and strife, the ministry said in a statement aired by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
Nilesat also notified the ministry that it would stop transmission from a station in Jouret el-Ballout in Lebanon as of tomorrow afternoon, the statement said, adding that the contract with the Lebanese state has been expired since 2015.
