British Ambassador to Libya Peter Millett
Tripoli - Arab Today

British Ambassador to Libya Peter Millett asserted that the international community will only deal with the Libyan presidential council's government led by Fayez Sarraj.

In statements on Thursday, the ambassador pointed out that international and European sanctions will be imposed on those who block the government's work.

He declined to reveal the names of those who will face sanctions but said the European Union will announce the names of two or three persons in the upcoming few days, adding that more names may be announced later.

He added that his country welcomes the arrival of Sarraj to Tripoli.

The agreement between Libyan fractions stipulates on the formation of a national unity government that unites the country ahead of facing challenges threatening Libya, he said.

The formation of the government came after Libyan dialogue, the ambassador said, asserting that no foreign party has imposed on Libyan people the formation of this government.

He pointed out that his country is ready to support the council face challenges.
