Cambodia's economic growth was predicted to stay healthy over the next two years, driven by garment export, tourism, construction, and agriculture, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on Wednesday.
"Cambodia is expected to maintain its annual growth of 7 percent in 2017 and 2018," he said during the opening ceremony of the 2017 Business Summit.
The Southeast Asian country achieved a 7-percent economic growth in 2016, supported by garment export, tourism, construction and agriculture.
According to government figures, garment and footwear export earned gross revenue of 6.9 billion U.S. dollars last year, representing a 4.5-percent rise year-on-year, as tourism received 5 million international visitors last year, up 5 percent year-on-year and generated total revenue of over 3 billion U.S. dollars.
The construction sector attracted a total investment of 8.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, up 156-percent year-on-year, the figures showed.
