Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi announced that the Danish ambassador to Tehran has been summoned on an attack on Iran’s Embassy in Copenhagen, IRNA reported on Thursday.
Qasemi said the Danish envoy was ordered to go to the Foreign Ministry after six people from opposition groups attacked the Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen on Wednesday afternoon.
The Danish ambassador was informed of Iran’s serious protest to the action which was against international norms and also the internal laws of Denmark.
Protesting against the Danish government’s insufficient response to ensure security of the Iranian nationals and staff at the Embassy, the Foreign Ministry called for 'serious, decisive, and responsible' measures against the attackers of the embassy.
The ambassador was told that the incident which has not been the first of its kind 'not only questions the will and intention of the Danish government but also does harm to the growing relations of the two countries and will certainly have appropriate reaction.'
