Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said that U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated in their meeting last week in Washington the U.S. commitment to supporting Iraq in its war against terrorism and reconstructing the country.
In a statement issued Friday, al-Jaafari said the two sides discussed the need for the United States to fulfill its previous pledges to the Iraqi government, adding that Iraqi forces are embroiled in a battle against the ISIS group on behalf of the whole world.
The Iraqi minister called on Washington to activate the strategic agreement that it had signed before with Iraq.
