Thailand's military leader General Prayuth has been nominated as the 29th Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, according to the BBC News Asia.
General Prayuth has been chosen as Premier by 191 out of 194 members of Thailand's National Assembly who voted on Thursday during a meeting of the Thai legislature.
The Assembly's choice is expected to be approved by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej later.
The Thai Military Council assumed power in Thailand last May following unrest and clashes between supporters of political factions and issued a roadmap for reforms in order for the country to return to democratic elections by the end of 2015.
