Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi has presented his credentials to Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand, as the new UAE Ambassador to the country, at the Governor-General's official residence in the capital, Wellington.
The ambassador conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the New Zealand Governor-General, and their wishes of further progress and prosperity to the people of New Zealand.
Mr. Al Suwaidi highlighted the UAE leadership's keenness to strengthen the existing partnership relations with New Zealand to cover new areas, stressing that the political will of the governments of the two countries and mutual visits play an important role in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation.
The Governor-General of New Zealand reciprocated greetings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and expressed her best wishes for the people of the UAE.
She also commended the important role played by the UAE at international and regional levels, stressing that the UAE is the core of stability in the region. She wished the UAE Ambassador success in his new mission to further boost bilateral ties between the two countries.
