The visit of a a delegation of Moroccan economic promoters and businessmen to Freetown will give new impetus to partnership between Sierra Leone and Morocco, said on Saturday President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma.
This visit constitutes a “turning point in relations between Sierra Leone and Morocco and represents what I would call a new beginning in our partnership,” Koroma told the press after a Moroccan-Sierra Leonean economic forum.
This partnership will strengthen both the bilateral ties and the economic relations between the two countries, he added.
The Moroccan delegation is led by chairwoman of the employers’ association (CGEM), Miriem Bensalah Cheqroun, and is composed of some forty Moroccan economic operators.
Sierra Leone is a country with enormous potential and natural resources in tourism and mining in particular, Ernest Bai Koroma said, noting that the visit of the Moroccan delegation to Sierra Leone will guarantee a strong partnership benefiting both parties.
The forum highlighted Sierra Leone’s investment opportunities in terms of public-private partnership (health, agriculture, energy, Transport, etc.) and private-private partnership (commercial banks, insurance, economic housing, etc.).
It was also marked by cluster discussions on mining, trade, business climate, tourism, transport, energy, financial institutions, agriculture and fisheries.
