Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, indicated on Friday that his government has a "strategic vision" on the solution to the conflicts taking place in Syria and Ukraine, stressing that Russia is seeking "to assuage the international climate."
"Our plans are basically based on national dialogue and understanding, as well as on enhancing stability and security," Zasypkin said during a ceremony upon the occasion of the Russian Diplomacy Day, at the Russian Cultural Center.
On the situation in Syria, the Ambassador said that the Russian diplomacy was about to reach a balance of interests and mutual respect of rights. "Every case can be resolved on the negotiations table."
He lastly hoped that the Lebanese people would be able to conduct the legislative polls "for the interest of all the categories of the society and in preservation of the vital Lebanese qualities, on top of which coexistence."
"Let the elections be a model of real democracy," he concluded.
