H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met in New York yesterday with a number of Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met with Argentine Foreign Minister, Jorge Faurie, Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ibrahim Ghandour, Indian Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, and Kenyan Foreign Minister, Amina Mohamed.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the mutual political, economic and trade relations between the UAE and those countries as well as means of boosting them in various fields. The meeting also touched on the strengthening of diplomatic relations and the exchange of visits and expertise.
They also exchanged views on the overall regional and international developments and other issues of common interest, particularly those related to the region, which are on the agenda of the UN meeting.
Sheikh Abdullah and Kenyan Foreign Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding for political consultations between the UAE and the Republic of Kenya.
He also met with Jan Kubis, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, and discussed with him the developments of the political, security and humanitarian situation in Iraq.
The meetings were attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, and Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
