H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Council of Education and Human Resources, has urged educators to encourage and support arts as a key part of the curricula.
''The interaction of science with arts in the learning process will create great leaders, who can innovate in building the future of humanity," Sheikh Abdullah said on Sunday, while attending an Expert Masterclass hosted by Corey Mitchell, a teacher at Northwest School of the Arts in the United States, on "Why the Tech World of Tomorrow Wants Arts Students."
The session was held on the second day of the Qudwa 2017 Global Teachers’ Forum, an international symposium that aims to improve the future of education.
Sheikh Abdullah noted that Albert Einstein had created scientific innovation with his skills of playing the violin, while D. Mitchell spoke of the way to connect with students through the power of ideas and emotion.
Qudwa 2017 is a global forum with teachers at its heart. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the event was organised on 7th and 8th October 2017 at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
