Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil El Araby Thursday asserted the importance of supporting the health systems in countries hosting refugees and migrants, especially Jordan and Lebanon.
This will help the two countries continue providing the best health services for their residents and refugees equally, he said.
This came in Araby's speech that was read out by Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Social Affairs Badr El Din Al Alaly in the 45th session of the Arab health ministers' council headed by Mauritania.
Also, the AL chief called for stepping up humanitarian efforts and keeping on offering the necessary aid to the affected and displaced people as well as reaching peaceful and permanent solutions as they could live a decent life and enjoy social justice and equality.
Araby called on the member states to unite their efforts to issue a clear decision affirming the health and social rights of the Palestinian people.
Also, he blamed the international community for the deterioration of the health situation in Palestine and urged it to provide the indispensable assistance for the Palestinian people as well as working on ending the Israeli occupation.
