Assistant of the President of the Republic, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Rahman Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, has affirmed the Presidency support to the National Human Rights Commission for enabling it to play up its role fully at the African and international levels.
This came when he received Monday in his office at the Republican Palace the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Haseeb Yonathan.
Yonathan said in a press statement after the meeting that the Assistant of the President has referred to a directive of the President of the Republic for making the state as the basis for inclusive human rights, peace and the dissemination of the human rights culture.
Yonathan indicated that he briefed the Assistant of the President on the role of the National Human Rights Commission in the past and coming periods.
