In line with its sustained efforts to advance the implementation of child protection policies in the country, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation’s, AMAF, Family Village, recently organised a seminar on psychological and criminal evaluation of employees.
Hosted in collaboration with the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology at Dubai Police, the evaluation is one of the essential pre-requisites to enable continual working at the Family Village, and aims to ensure best-in-class protection for its children to enable their psychological and physical well-being.
In line with AMAF’s efforts to improve work procedures as per the UAE’s Child Protection Law, Wadima, that aims to raise children with a sense of national identity and respect for human brotherhood, the seminar attempted to educate children on their rights, duties and responsibilities. Additionally, it instructed guardians and care givers about their role in executing the law and protecting children from any harm.
Presented by Major Mohammad Al Hammadi, Psychological Expert at the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, the seminar drew the participation of Wedad Salem Al Mahmoud, Director of the Family Village, Mohammad Sameer, Manager of Legal Affairs at AMAF, Athraa Al Hajri, Head of Accommodation Department, and Naser Al Harbi, Psychological Specialist at the Family Village.
Speaking on the seminar, Wedad Al Mahmoud said, "This seminar will help strengthen child protection policies at the Family Village and enable the entity to build credibility within the community for its safety and quality standards."
"This in turn will increase public confidence in our operations and services. Adopting psychological evaluation as an employment criterion at Family Village complies with our sustained mandate to entrust only well-qualified personnel with the safety and care of our children," she added.
