Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, has said that Flag Day celebrations on 3rd November each year are a celebration of the UAE’s great historical achievements and its long journey of generosity.
It reflects the national value of unity on the Union’s journey, he added.
"The declaration of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to mark 3rd November every year as Flag Day coincides with the anniversary of the day when President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the President of the UAE and assumed power."
He highlighted that the UAE was celebrating this precious day as part of the efforts to unite and raise the flag at all government departments, as well as other properties and houses in the country.
He said that the celebrations from the Ministry of Defence on the occasion were an honest manifestation of its spirit of loyalty and belonging and a promotion of the flag’s position to strengthen the principle of respecting it as a national symbol.
