President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania on Tuesday received H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in the country's capital, Vilnius.
At the start of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Grybauskaite, and his wishes for further progress and prosperity for the Lithuanian people.
The President of Lithuania, in return, asked Sheikh Abdullah to reciprocate greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, wishing him continued good health and wellness, and further progress and prosperity for the people of the UAE.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting them, especially in the political, economic, social and cultural fields, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, and developments in the region.
The Lithuanian President welcomed Sheikh Abdullah's visit to her country, praising the distinguished relations the two countries share, and expressed her keenness for strengthening those relations and broadening the possibilities for expanding mutual cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, the UAE Foreign Minister stressed the importance of strengthening UAE-Lithuanian relations and to continue working together on areas that benefit the people of both countries.
Sheikh Abdullah also praised Lithuania's progress and development, which, he said, will open the doors to further investment opportunities between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Youssef Al Sabri, the UAE's Non-Resident Ambassador to Lithuania
