Bahrain's marketplace does not contain any of the livestock and poultry meats tested and numerically-designated by the Brazilian government as non-conformant with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s applicable health standards and specifications, according to Mohammed Suleiman Al Haddaq, Head of the Food Control Department in the Ministry of Health.
He assured that food inspectors stationed at the borders are performing their assigned role in monitoring and checking all imported foodstuffs in order to immediately halt any polluted or non-conformant food shipments, reaffirming the Ministry's strict food safety policy to ensure consumers' safety.
