Palestinian Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Youssef Adeis said the ministry is following up with the Saudi and Jordanian authorities the developments of the bus accident that left 14 Palestinian pilgrims dead and 36 others wounded.
The the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle around 320 kilometers south of Amman.
In a press statement on Wednesday night, Adeis called on media outlets to take their information only from official authorities, especially the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
In earlier statements, Jordanian emergency sources said the death toll is likely to increase given the severity of the injuries.
All of the dead and injured passengers were residents of the West Bank.
The group was heading to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra.
