The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, has signed a protection agreement with Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, Etisalat, to develop a system of protection from cyber-threats. The agreement aims to improve its digital security, data flow, and its network’s readiness to confront all potential threats in the future.
According to this agreement, the SCCI receives technical and consultation support from Etisalat to devise the necessary plans and develop solutions to maintain the safety of SCCI’s workflow. It also provides for establishing backup support plans to help prepare for setbacks that may result in disrupting work in case of digital security breaches.
The agreement was signed by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, and Mohammed Al Omaimi, Acting General Manager of Etisalat Northern Emirates, at the SCCI pavilion at GITEX on the sideline of the two parties’ participation in the event.
Commenting on signing the agreement, Mr. Al Owais said that the SCCI is committed to developing its technological infrastructure by employing cutting-edge systems and solutions that ensure providing the best services for its clients under all circumstances, all while guaranteeing the highest security standards.
Al Omaimi said the agreement falls within the framework of a strategic plan that bolsters the standing relationship with the SCCI. It also embodies our commitment to supporting the efforts of the governmental and private sectors in the comprehensive development process and providing all technical support methods to achieve these directives. He also added that the main goal of the agreement is to provide IT security services for the Chamber which would contribute to developing the services it provides to its members.
