Ankara - Arab Today

A Turkish citizen was injured Saturday when a cross-border mortar strike allegedly launched from the Syrian territory hit his house in the southern Turkish city of Kilis, local media reported.

Last Monday, at least one employee died after a mortar struck a school in Kilis. The Turkish military struck back on positions allegedly held by Daesh.

Since the Syrian war rages just a few kilometers away from Turkey's southern border, Turkish border areas have repeatedly come under artillery fire.

The incidents have mostly met with forceful retaliation from the Turkish army.
