Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, today received Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili, and discussed ways to boost cooperation between the UNWTO and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA). BTEA CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa was also present.
Means of enhancing cooperation to enhance Bahrain's family tourism standing at the regional and global levels were discussed, in addition to boosting tourism sector to contribute to achieving Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
It is worth to mention that the BTEA has won membership of the UNWTO’s Executive Council 2018-2021 in recognition of its efforts to develop local tourism sector.
