News reports have it that the annual Kuwaiti Hello February Music Festival may be cancelled after a number of singers scheduled to hold concerts called off their performances. Many stars are cancelling as a way to show their support to the lives of innocent victims in Syrian who lost their lives at the hands of members of the army and police force. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information had announced that the events of the festival will not be aired on any of the local Kuwaiti channels, and one of the main organizers of the festival composer Abdullah Al Qu’ood suggest that it would be wise to cancel the event completely. Abdullah said that the cancellation of many singers will negatively impact the festival that has witnessed ongoing success year after year. Abdullah added that he fully supports the decision of singers due to the unstable conditions taking place around the Arab world and Syria. He said that he met with the remaining members of the festival organizing committee and informed them of the current status of the event and that it is best to cancel it as singers are cancelling their performances. According to the internet website MBC.net, some of the singers that cancelled their scheduled performances at the festivals are prominent Kuwaiti singers Nabeel Shuael and Nawal, Saudi singers Abdullah Al Ruwaished and Raih Saqr, Omani singer Salah Al Zadjali Bahraini singer Salman Hameed and others.
