Athar El-Hakim for cancelling Shura Council

Egyptian actress Athar El-Hakim has called for canceling Egyptian Shura Council, since it is not effective and it costs the state millions of pounds. She stressed the need to expedite forming the founding committee of the new constitution, as well as holding the presidential elections. "This way, we can save effort, money, and two extra months,” she explained. "I sympathize with the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) for having to wait for five or six months at least until the presidential election are held. If, God forbid, any other disaster occurs, during this period, the SCAF will be to blame. Same as it was blamed for the events of Maspero, Cabinet and Mohamed Mahmoud.
