Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh is to reprise her role as warrior Yu Shu Lien in The Green Destiny, a prequel to the 2000 blockbuster Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Chinese martial-arts choreographer and film director Yuen Woo-ping is scheduled to start production on the picture in July. Shooting will take place in New Zealand and China. Woo-ping coordinated the action scenes in the original martial arts-romance, which was based on the fourth in a series of books by Wang Du Lu. Helmed by Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is the most successful Chinese-language film to date, earning $213.5 million at the global box office and winning the 2001 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
