LEBANON - Arabstoday

Prominent Syrian singer George Wassouf has been black listed by fans in Syria for his stance regarding the current revolution taking place in Syria demanding the resignation of the government. George has publicly announced that he is against the protesters/revolutionaries and fully supports the government and President Bashar Al Asad. The singer has been severely attacked verbally and on the internet for his position. Recently, George said that he is against the chaos created by protesters and released a song dedicated to President Bashar Al Asad titled “Ya Ghali Ibn Al Ghali” (Oh dear one son of a dear one).  The song gave rise to harsh criticism against George and placed him on the black list, which is created by a number of activists.
