Actor Hasan Dakak passed away Wednesday at the age of 55 after experiencing a sudden heart attack. The actor’s funeral will take place on Thursday outside of his home in the industrial area of Bab Masla where he will be buried at the Bab Sughayyar in Bab Aljabi in Damascus. Dakak is originally from Damascus, where he started his acting career. He was born in 1956 and although he held a BA in law from the University of Damascus, he began acting in his school days, taking part in school plays and in Revolutionary Youth Union Festivals. In addition he was a member of the Syrian Artists Association in 1982. Dakak has had a long career spanning over 30 years. His works include TV, cinema, theatre and radio. Some of his work includes the 5 part Syrian drama Bab Al Hara, the film “The City Dreams”, and TV series “Maraya”, which he was a part of from 1999 until 2011, the drama “Women with No Wings”, the drama “Hegrat al Goloob ela al Goloob” and many others. A number of works were filmed by the late actor will be broadcast this coming Ramadan, some of which are Aldaboor part 2, Maraya, Born from the Wasit, amongst others. Condolences to the family.
