Steve Nicks has announced new solo album 24 Karat Gold.
The album is the 66-year-old singer's second release as a solo artist, and follows 2011's In Your Dreams. Nicks is best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac, and spent much of 2013 on tour with the band.
24 Karat Gold was recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, and features tracks primarily written between 1969 and 1987. The album artwork incorporates never-before-seen Polaroids taken by Nicks throughout the years, and the deluxe photobook CD includes dozens of other photographs and two bonus tracks.
"Each song is a lifetime," the singer said in a statement.
"Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories -- the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you."
24 Karat Gold is scheduled for release October 7. Pre-orders begin August 5, and a limited edition double LP will be released September 29. Nicks kicks off a new Fleetwood Mac tour September 30 in Minneapolis, Minn. that will see vocalist and keyboardist Christine McVie reunite with the band.
The singer will also mentor Team Adam Levine on season seven of The Voice this fall.
