Tunisian singer Latifa has recorded a new song to celebrate the success of Egypt's June 30 revolution which led to the overthrow of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood regime. Viva Egypt also marks the 61st anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution. Latifa told Arab Today: "I couldn't turn down the opportunity to sing a national song for my second country, Egypt. The song marks the success of the June 30 uprising and the memory of the July 23 Revolution." She explained that Viva Egypt is dedicated to the country's armed forces, for their bravery and important role in defending the nations borders. Latifa added that she is yet to make a decision on whether the song would feature on her new album, which is expected to be released after the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
