Egyptian actress Wafaa Amer has told Arabstoday that she's "really depressed" over the situation in Egypt. "I can't believe what's happening in Egypt. Murder, robbery, plunders—never in all my life have I seen these things happening in my country, so I'm really depressed over this situation,” she said. “I hope it will all pass soon and Egypt will become as safe as it used to be." Amer said she has been keeping up with political situation inside Egypt for some time now. “I have to know what's going on," she said. "I follow current affairs every day, through political chat shows and on Facebook,” she added. Amer's last major TV role was in the hit series Kariokka, where she played the Egyptian dancer and actress Tahiya Kariokka.
