Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said that the Blue Nile is back to its original course after it was temporarily diverted in May 2013 at the site of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
In a press release, the Irrigation Ministry said the minister denied reports claiming that Ethiopia started to store water behind the dam.
"The course of the Blue Nile passes through the four underground tunnels of the dam, which does not mean that amounts of water are stored there," Hossam Moghazi added.
The Blue Nile provides Egypt with 85 percent of its water share.
On Saturday, Moghazi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Khartoum to attend a six-party meeting on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
