Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi has said development of ties between Egypt and Ethiopia cannot be at the expense of other member states of the Nile Basin.
In press statements on Sunday, Moghazi said he presented a report to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the results of the latest round of talks with Ethiopia and Sudan on the selection of consultancy houses and development projects agreed upon between the three countries.
Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia have selected two consultancy houses to study the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam to avoid any differences in the future among the three countries.
A comprehensive plan to develop ties with the Nile Basin member states was prepared through exchange of experts, training of technical cadres and development projects in the member states as well as completion of the ongoing projects, he said.
There are several cooperation protocols with Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania and Rwanda, he added.
The minister said he will visit the Democratic Republic of Congo in June to inspect the location of a proposed weather change center to be built by Egypt.
This is also a part of the cooperation plans with members of the Nile Basin, according to the minister.
