Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazy said on Saturday that an inclusive plan was developed to help 10 governorates address threats of flooding.
About 142 storm drains, with estimated length of 341km, would be cleared as part of the plan in preparation for possible floods, the minister told the press on Saturday.
The brushing up would cost about EGP 6m, the minister said, adding, they would also be flushed to keep it empty for water flow.
Also, maintenance plans were set to cover dams, reservoirs and bridges, the minister added.
