The head of drinking water and sanitary drainage company in Qena, said the central laboratory in Qena affirmed the water samples taken from the area which witnessed the sinking of a barge loaded with phosphate are free from radioactive materials.
Engineer Hany Hamdy said the laboratory sent a committee to the company to follow up the sample results.
He affirmed that the water is fit for drinking but precautionary measures were taken.
