Russian President Vladimir Putin said he discussed with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi Egyptian-Russian relations and means to cement them in the various domains.

In a press conference with Sisi in Moscow on Wednesday, the Russian leader said that cooperation has greatly developed recently, pointing out that he agreed with Sisi on increasing cooperation in the future.

Putin said Russian and Egyptian experts are finalizing scientific steps to build a nuclear plant for producing electricity in Egypt.

The Russian president said he discussed with Sisi economic cooperation and joint trade exchange which increased in 2014 by 86 percent, adding that the two countries took tangible steps to boost the economy including the establishment of a free trade zone between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union (Eurasian) and the use of national currencies to encourage investments.

The Russian leader pointed out that 400 Russian companies are working in Egypt and these companies were working to develop many projects.

The fund founded by Egyptian, Russian and Emirati companies was working to develop investments especially in the energy domain, said the Russian leader, pointing out some major Russian companies are working in Egypt in the oil and energy domains.

The Russian president said he exchanged with president Sisi viewpoints on the possibility of benefiting from the new Suez Canal project and the establishment of Russian projects in the Suez canal area.
