Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed said on Friday that strict controls were set to govern the provision of bonuses for the ministry staffers.
This move aims at maintaining the public funds and achieving the principle of equality among the ministry employees, he said.
Fayed took the decision after a meeting with Mona Tharwat, an employee of the Agriculture Ministry who was reportedly assaulted by a policeman while attempting to meet Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.
During her meeting with the minister, Tharwat complained "the unfair distribution of bonuses at the ministry."
