Bahrain's decision to strip its top Shiite cleric of his citizenship will create "a flame of fire" in the Sunni-ruled country and the region, a top Iranian general said late Monday according to state media. "Surely they know that the aggression against Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim is a red line, the crossing of which will create a flame of fire in Bahrain and throughout the region that will leave no option for the people but to resort to armed resistance," said General Qassem Suleimani, head of Iran's Quds Force, the Revolutionary Guards' foreign operations arm. |
