The EU said that "ball is entirely in the UK court" in the latest round of Brexit negotiations starting Monday, rejecting British Prime Minister Theresa May's claim the next step lay with Brussels.
"There has been so far no solution found on step one, which is the divorce proceedings. So the ball is entirely in the UK court for the rest to happen," European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas said.
