Polls open in tense Venezuela legislative election

Polls opened in oil-rich Venezuela Sunday in a tense election that could see the opposition win control of the legislature from the socialist government for the first time since 1999.
Polling stations opened at 6:00 am (1030 GMT) with 19.5 million people eligible to elect lawmakers to the National Assembly, in a vote widely seen as a referendum on President Nicolas Maduro's economic leadership.
